What is LASIK Xtra?
LASIK Xtra is a simple treatment performed in conjunction with LASIK to add biomechanical strength to your cornea.
LASIK Xtra adds just a few extra minutes to the LASIK treatment. In this treatment, Ultraviolet A (UVA) light and riboflavin (vitamin B) eye drops are used to strengthen the cornea. Ultraviolet A (UVA) is one of the three types of invisible light rays given off by the sun (together with UVB and UVC) and is the weakest of the three.
This treatment is more commonly suggested for people with highly short-sighted and long-sighted prescriptions, in order to improve the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
